I have a concrete container in which I want to plant flowers or any other plants. It is beside the entry to the church. It is in partial shade. The plant s should be 8-14 ins high. The fllowers should be flowering a ll season. I did plant impatients but I want to try something different.
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersSweet Alyssum makes a sweet smelling border. Snapdragons, Coleus, Cyclamen, Lobelia is a beauty, Wax Begonia, Highbred Impatiens. Petunias, Tuberous Begonia, another beauty, Verbena. You have a nice large container, so just about anything will work, as most plants can tolerate partial shade.

In a planter I'd just go with the seasonal plants at the home center. Maybe add a light sprinkeling of feterlizer and mix the soil well if it has been previously used.
Reply:Annuals for Shade or Part Shade
Most annuals need at least 6 hours of sun to flower well, although many will tolerate shade in the afternoon, if they have had a full morning of sun. These annuals will bloom with less sun, although all will need some sun for flowering. Those marked with a * will tolerate the most shade.
