Flowers
So the '' so...if flowers drop off once plants are fertilized, how come they are in bloom for months? " is an incorrect question.
2 ) When the process of fertilization is completed in a particular flower ( Pollination follwed by fertilization in side the ovary and ovule ; the floral parts begin to drop away one by one and only the ovary ( Pistil part ) remains and converted in to a fruit ( You have called it a seed packet ! ).
3 ) In spite of the facts mentioned in (2) above new flowers continue to be produced from the flowering buds and in their turn get fertilized and produce fruits !
4) The flowers in a garden will continue to bloom as long as the 'Blooming Period ' ( Flowering period ) is on. IT is irrespective of the fact that some of them have produced fruits.
