What are some low maintenance and economical plants or flowers that I could plant in my yard?

I just bought my first home. It is a new construction. I do not have experience with gardening but I want my yard to look pretty. I live in GA. My front yard gets lots of sunshine and right now rain is scarce. HELP!

Reply:You%26#039;ll get the biggest bang for your buck with perennials because you don%26#039;t have to plant them each year. Bulbs also work well for the same reason.

Easy to grow flowers in Ga in full sun include begonias and lantana. Start with larger plants ( like trees, shrubs) first though. Plant them in the back and work your way down to low plants and flowers in the front. Garden Centers can help you.
Reply:im no green thumb but i planted garlic sections of a clove and they grow fast and ez and will have pretty flowers .and seems they dont need alot of water or care
Reply:Daylilies are a great landscaping flower. They come up every year and will spread and then can be divided to put in other areas. They love lots of sunshine and are drought tolerant. They also come in assorted colors and sizes. Some are even double bloomers. And the plant looks nice. There is a place in TN that sells very nice plants, but your local nursery should have a fairly decent variety.loan
