Anyone know of flowers or plants that I can plant in an area that gets little to no sun?

I have an area near my front porch that doesn%26#039;t get much sun; I%26#039;m looking for a nice plant that I can plant in this area so it%26#039;s not just an empty space.

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersThere are many plants that enjoy shade. One great plant is called Daphne Odora (Winter Daphne). It is a flowering bush and the smell of the flowers is like sweet lemon. It is one of the first bushes to bloom in the springtime and that%26#039;s why it gets the nickname Winter Daphne. It is heavenly having a aromatic bouquet of Daphne in the house when it%26#039;s still winter. You can prune the bush to a desired shape. It does not grow overly tall and the leaves stay green all year long. Lilacs love shade and so do rhododendrons, azaleas, tulips, crocus, daffodils, gladiolas, peonies, lilies, iris, pansies, petunias, impatients and begonias. Begonias do not like sun at all and do very well in containers. They bloom all summer long if you take good care of them. If you are indoors, African Violets love shade. Best of luck to you and happy gardening!
Reply:Petunias.

I don%26#039;t care for them much, but a girlfriend planted them and they did great. I took good care of them, and I think I could have given them gasoline and they would still have done well!

Try them.....they are very hardy.
Reply:ummmmm..... those plants that grow really close to the ground. they are wihte and they are like snow plants i think
Reply:hostas come in different shades of green and varigated they grow really well in the shade also ferns and begonias.

You%26#039;re a Libra aren%26#039;t you darling?
Reply:Orchids, indoor, non-direct sun (in a kitchen window)

Bamboo, indoor/outdoor, water every day, it%26#039;s extremely difficult to kill a Bamboo. If you don%26#039;t have a green thumb like me, this is the plant for you.
Reply:Hosta,s are nice. They have big leaves and grow about 18 to 20 inches tall, they flower mid summer. But it depends what region you are in. There are many different varieties of hosta%26#039;s and many different type%26#039;s of shade plants. Hosta%26#039;s come up every year, they are perennials. Hosta%26#039;s are easy to take care of and easy to grow.c++
