Here is my favorite, you are going to have a great time with it.

The great thing about burpee seeds is you can look through their site and imagine what your land would look like and how you can put some of this and that together to create what you want.

The packages come with a chart of when to plant a particular flower or vegetable, how much sun they like and when they produce.

The amazing thing about burpee is there are new plants yearly.

Look at this site and use your imagination.

You will be surprised how much fun just selecting what you are going to plant will be.
Reply:A locally owned nursery should carry only plants that are appropriate for your area. With almost all plants (except tomatoes) shrubs, and trees; one of the most important things to remember is to never add any dirt over where the dirt is in the pot you bought it in- this will almost certainly kill the plant. you may even plant it an inch or so higher than the surrounding ground to allow room to settle. Most anything that has been newly planted will need water every day. The best way to water shrubs and trees is to let the hose slowly trickle water for an extended period. Flowers in pots tend to dry out sooner and in an extremely hot climate may require water more than once a day. Osmocote is a great fertilizer- it's a slow release formula that lasts for 4 months. Monrovia has an easy to navigate web site with hundreds of varieties of plants. Also, a good source of information is your local college's extension office. They should have information on all plant life int he area. Hope this helped!
Reply:The first thing you need to do is to find out what zone you live in. Click on the link below, it shows zone charts and growing suggestions for your specific zone. Since you live on an island, a lot will depend on whether you live near the ocean or on a mountain. Different soil types accommodate specific types of flowers. This is a great site with many helpful suggestions. Once you find the hardiness zone, you can go to "Google" and type in "flowers for zone 1", or "trees for zone 1", etc. You will find lots of great sites. Good luck.
