Can you plant flowers that have been cut already?

I'm wondering if it is possible to plant flowers(like roses you may give for a gift) in the earth, for example your backyard. I have some for mothers day and thought it would be great to plant them and have fresh cut flowers sometimes. Thank-you.

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersNo. I am a florist, and there is no way for a cut florist-shop rose to grow roots. The best you can do is find out the variety of rose that you have (you can ask the florist where they came from - bring the rose to them) and then try to find a full plant online. All roses have names such as Freedom or Goldrush, etc., and plants can generally be obtained.
Reply:although most of the time once you cut the flowers they have died there is a way that you can actually grow a rose-bush from a cut rose but you have to sacrifice the flower so this negates the enjoyment. (I can't remember the technique right now but ist is labour intensive and you might get 1 or 2 successes from a dozen roses)





Why not get some plants anyway of the flowers you most enjoy and grow them. It is fun to pick flowers from your garden.
